Cybele- Mother Goddess
Cybele- Mother Goddess
In ancient Mythology, Cybele is a Mother Goddess from Anatolia, where present day Turkey is now. Greek colonists adopted her story, and brought her legend back to mainland Greece, where the ancient Greeks adapted her story. She's part Demeter, part Rhea, part Gaia, and was known as a protector and nurturer. Cybele holds the key to the Earth, locking it up in the winter and unlocking it in the spring. This wonderful cold cast polyresin statue depicts Cybele on a throne, with lions on each side, and the key to the Earth in her hand. The statue features a wonderful metallic bronze finish, with hand painted accents to show off the detail. She measures 7.5 inches tall, 7 inches long, 5.25 inches wide, and has a felt-like fabric on the bottom to keep your furniture from being scratched.
